Hispanic Goth music?
I‘m bilingual (English-Spanish) and one of the best ways I learn is through music. Ive been recommended some Spanish music by friends/teachers in the past, but its all Shakira, Bad Bunny, Karol G, etc.
They’re all very talented artists, but I’m not really into the genres they play- basically pop. And I’ve been wondering if theres anything more my style (Goth, Grunge, Rock) in Spanish, or from Hispanic artists.

Really disappointed in my local goth scene
My local goth scene us hosting a "goth night" at a local movie theater to screen an AI generated "movie" I was beyond flabbergasted when I saw them announce this on their social media. Like a year ago, I posted here how my art was presented at a WGD event, and how snarky some of the organizers were (being that I'm not part of their close friends). Very unwelcoming, so I drew apart and now they come with this… no words honestly.
But why is AI getting so popular amongst goths? Or maybe it's just in my area, but I'm tired of seeing AI generated posters for events, AI videos to promote "goth nights" and now an AI generated movie by an "author" that very likely also writes using AI. (They will be charging per ticket by the way) 🙄 As an artist and designer this is so insulting, also, I don't think using AI generated stuff aligns with goth values.

For Latin goths, do you consider Caifanes’ album Volume 1 to be gothic? Caifanes in general, since many of their lyrics border on gothic for me.
Songs like "Tell Me Your Life" and "That's Why" have all the hallmarks of post-punk, "Kill Me Because I'm Dying" is the ultimate expression of love (not necessarily romantic) after death, "Until You Stop Breathing" speaks of desire in such an exalted way, "Wind" with its line "Bewitch me, let's become eternal," and other songs like "Until I Die," "Shadows in Lost Times," etc., contain certain lyrics that I believe fit perfectly within the gothic genre.

Possible abuse going forward
Good timezone everyone.
It has come to our attention that a certain group may be using content from here, by us mods and our members in nefarious and defamatory ways.
We do not know if it has already started or if it may happen or not.
We were warned that this group may be fabricating posts by altering text in screenshots etc. To make it look like illegal activities are taking place.
This group started attacking us and others due to the problematic band list we have made, for people to use at their own discretion (as stated in the wiki page for it), not strictly forbidding them. The evidence is mostly from the bands or members of the bands themselves.
Stay safe out there, and always report abuse and any harassment to us as always.
Thank you.

Goth songs with accordion?
Songs that are not purely post-punk/new wave will be appreciated too. Looking for something with spooky/gloomy vibes, like Carny by Nick Cave or Tattoed man by Coil

Anyone have a recent experience of getting drugged at The Castle Ybor?
Has anyone recently been to The Castle in Ybor and gotten drugged? I know my friend had only 2 drinks, now I know they are strong drinks but I've never seen a reaction like that from her while drunk before in the 8 years ive known her. It was scary. When we started to head back to the car she started running into walls and becoming incoherent and then violent towards us, i thought the cops were gonna get called. We were eventually able to calm her enough to get her home and the next day she told me she blacked out but she didnt just go to sleep when we got back like you'd think when drunk, she was still having a really hard time for like over another hour. The only think I can think it could have been was she was drugged. I saw a post from 10 months ago about it being a problem there but hadn't seen anything about it recently. I'm wondering if anyone else has had issues here?

Can I still be goth if I’m deaf?
I've been listening to goth music since I was 11, and I love it and the goth subculture. Tragically, I began to lose my hearing at 12 and just had a cochlear implant surgically installed 4 days ago (i am 17). I was talking to one of my "friends" who is very much a goth. She said that she thinks I'm not really goth because I hear artificially (I've had hearing aids for 5 years) and I can't really enjoy the music or experience it like a normal person can. I am very insecure about being deaf and this just makes me feel like shit. Do I have to give up the goth label? I'm sorry if this is dumb or the wrong sub, it's the most relevant one I could find.
